A music review of original compositions by New England Singer/Songwriter Dan Kirouac

Dan KirouacReview by; Glen Peladeau ~ Eccentric Musician Company

Singer/Songwriter Dan Kirouc has been performing for many of his adult years He is a verified ASCAP/BMI composer and has been a member of various successful cover bands in the area, the most recent and current one is "Beatles for sale" a tribute to the band.

Today I am taking a look at Dan's music as offered on the Amazon and CD baby digital media stores. I have listened to each selection below in their entirety.

Dan's songs range widely in style and music delivery but not so much so that you can't tell who it came from. He is able to write and produce music that has an inherent core to his own original style. His preferences seem to be in acoustic, rock, inspirational and in country as you will hear in the selections mentioned.

In the song "By my side" Dan performs a lovey Duet with Singer Dorrette Weld, a love song that brings out the message of lovers being by each others side. The song is melodic and is a slow tempo with piano at the heart of the mix and acoustic guitar complimenting it underneath. The vocals are as we l as very meaningful and heart felt. Dorette also has a beautiful voice for this style and is a nice match to Dan's clear voice as he sings a nice soft male character for the song.

Dan's country style of writing appears in this song called "Sliver Wishes" that was nominated for song of the year by Limelight magazine in 2012. The song is complimented by female vocalist Jenn Zapata. Jenn serves the song with her raspy, young adult, contemporary country vocals. Jenn was a great choice to deliver the song's message. I also enjoyed the song's short and sweet guitar solo that caries the song's momentum into the last verse. The only thing I would have done production wise was to place a few more chorus lines at the end. This comes from a guy that hates repetative songs but I think in this case the song begs for more  That being said it is a great song to buy for the collection, support and share with friends.  Be sure to check out the links below.

But Still I Pray

If you like inspirational songs without getting bashed offer the head with "Jesus Loves You" christian type songs this might be the one of you. Don't get me wrong, I do like Christian songs and other inspiration songs but some over do it. This one doesn't, it is a nice song that sends a message of hope. A great song for any one struggling from internal battles or to send to a soldier on the battlefield.

"Still I pray" is a great song for the collection. Nice lead vocals from Dan on this one with a female back ground.

You know I think Dan's songs have the ability to cross from independent to major label and very sellable for the independent film market. With the help of music fans buying his music in support I believe his songs will receive more recognition to allow for this to happen.

The last song for this review is a Country Christmas tune called "Christmas together" penned and performed by Dan.This song's vocal's are performed by Sarah Gengal who has a nice clean country voice. If your looking for a lovey song to share with a loved one during Christmas time this would be a great new Christmas song for the collection. Once heard it will be shared.

Thank you for reading this review, as always Dan has my blessings and deserves your ears and heart to have a listen. please take the time to review his songs and place them into your collection to share with friends and family.
